Olympic Progression
Things are certainly starting to fall into place for American athletes hoping to compete in Beijing.
Last night, NBC hosted the U.S. Swimming and Track and Field trials.
Not too many surprises there.
In track, Jeremy Wariner, who earned two medals in the last Olympic games, cruised to an easy victory in the 400.
In swimming, Michael Phelps won one of his events, and managed to break a world record while he was at it. Small potatoes for a guy who won gold in seven of his eight events in Athens.
The men’s basketball team looks to be talented as well.
With superstars such as Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul and DeWayne Wade, hopefully this year’s team will be much less of an embarassment than in previous years. I guess we’ll see.
